The app

Replace a person with a live 3D avatar

Simulatra uses your phone camera to detect a person, overlay a 3D character, and track face, body, and hands in real time — fully on-device.

How it works

Turn on the camera

Point at yourself or a friend — live AR starts right away.

Pick your character

Choose a character from the library — it tracks in real time.

Shoot and share

Record video, save to gallery, post to Reels, Shorts, or TikTok — or just share.

Face, body, hands

Expressions, pose, gestures — tracked simultaneously

A crowd of avatars

Several people in the frame at once — each tracked separately and replaced with their own 3D character. One camera, many avatars moving in sync with everyone in the room.

Pets as 3D avatars

Point the camera at a cat or dog — the app detects the pet and overlays an animated 3D model that follows its movement.

Speak in a different voice

Swap your real voice for an electronic, robotic, or cartoon sound — or pick any style you like. Everything happens live while you shoot.

Object Tracking

ARKit (iOS) and Augmented Images (ARCore) recognize a reference image — poster, logo, QR — or a pre-scanned 3D object in the camera and anchor virtual content to it. 3D avatars and effects stay pinned to the real object as it moves.

Dreams

Superheroes and characters from films & cartoons

Put on a superhero from your favorite film or cartoon — a horizon with no timeline, but one we're striving for.

Important

Technical limitations

  • The app uses the camera, AR, and real-time 3D tracking at once. On budget or older phones you may experience stuttering, overheating, and faster battery drain.
  • Minimum: Android 9+ or iOS 15+. For comfortable use we recommend Android 11+ or iOS 16+, or a newer model.
  • Not all Android models are supported — you need Google Play Services for AR from Google Play (usually preinstalled on certified devices).
  • If your model is on Google's list but AR doesn't work, install the services from a PC via cable. If your phone is not on Google's list, effects won't run.
  • Install Google Play Services for AR from Google Play if missing. Check if your phone is on Google's supported-device list
